Bedrooms
En-suite accommodation is provided for all residents with bedrooms having sweeping countryside views and most rooms providing direct access to the gardens. The main building comprises 31 beds including three larger suites. The adjoining Lodge houses 7 bedrooms for more independent residents.
Respite Suite
This large bedroom is tailored for short stay visits which are charged for at a nightly rate. It is a popular facility and is often booked several months in advance. The room offers a double bed, en-suite wet room facility and a private patio area.
Bathrooms & Facilities
Although all bedrooms are en-suite, Grange Hill House also provides toilets close to the lounges and dining rooms. With a strong emphasis on independence and dignity, each toilet is equipped with aids to assist residents.
Housekeeping & Laundry Services
There is daily, thorough cleaning of all private rooms and communal areas, to maintain a hygienic spotless environment.
A comprehensive laundry service is carried out on site using commercial equipment and is included within Grange Hill House fee structure. Dry cleaning fees are charged extra.
Emergency Call
Each room is fitted with a Call Alarm System. Although primarily for emergencies, it can also be used to call for a member of staff.
Relaxing
Grange Hill House provides two comfortable lounges and a conservatory where residents can relax and enjoy the views of open countryside.
Dining
There are two dining areas on the ground floor of the main building in the house and Lodge. Tables are beautifully presented restaurant style and a daily menu provides a choice of freshly cooked food.
Grange Hill House provides an exceptionally high standard of food. Skilled cooks offer a menu which caters for individual tastes and needs. Particular attention is paid to providing nutritious, well-balanced meals using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Special diets for cultural, religious or medical requirements are catered for and drinks and snacks are available at any time during the day or night. Residents may dine in their own rooms if they wish.
Lifts
Grange Hill House is equipped with a stair-lift to access the first floor and members of staff are always on hand to ensure safety whilst the lift is in use.
Telephones
Residents may have telephones in their rooms at their own cost or use mobile phones. Residents are also able to use a pay phone situated in the conservatory.
Ramps
Wherever possible, Grange Hill House ensures the mobility of its residents with ramped access to the main areas within the building.
Smoking
Grange Hill House is a non-smoking home.
Safety & Security
Safety is paramount throughout all homes within the Carlton Care Group. All furniture is flame resistant/retardant and staff undergo rigorous specialist training every six months. The fire evacuation procedure is well rehearsed.
The front door of Grange Hill House is operated using a security keypad (whilst not compromising Fire Regulations). Staff members are required to wear name badges at all times. All Visitors must sign in on arrival.
Car Parking
Ample car parking is provided for visitors' use. No liability is accepted for loss or damage while using the car parks.
Gardens
Grange Hill House stands within several acres of informal gardens with far reaching, countryside views. These delightful gardens provide many seating areas for sunny days and the recently constructed courtyard features an ornamental fountain along with a useful Summer House provided by the Friends of Grange Hill House.
